25 Jan Spin Skulls
You are going to have SO MUCH fun doing this activity! You will be trying out some spin painting just like the bad boy artist, Damien Hirst.
Damien Hirst is a successful and controversial artist. His works, which include dead animal displays and spin-art paintings, have sold for exceptionally high prices and he is one of the wealthiest artists living today.
Hirst likes to keep art his art youthful and entertaining. He learnt about spin art at a carnival when he was younger. He loved it so much that he had a spin machine installed in his studio and creates his spin art on a MASSIVE scale. Hirst likes to have fun and each spin painting has a long title that begins with ‘Beautiful’ and ends with ‘Painting’. These are playful titles much like the art itself. – Eg. Beautiful, cataclysmic pink minty shifting horizon exploding star with ghostly presence, wide, broad, painting!!
This lesson uses Damien Hirst’s spin art as an inspiration.
